BMW officially launches its first rechargeable hybrid car, “BMW X5 xDrive 40e”

BMW officially launched its new hybrid car X5’s a production version of the X5 xDrive trial version that we’ve seen at the Frankfurt International Motor Show in 2013.

This hybrid car is equipped with 4-cylinder 2-liter turbo engine combined with an electric engine connected to a 9 kW / h battery of lithium ions in addition to the automatic gearbox with Steptronic 8 ratios.


As for the 4 cylinder engine, it generates 245 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque, while the electric engine generates 113 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque which makes a total of 313 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque. This versatile sports car kicks off from 0 to 100 km / h in 6.8 seconds before reaching a top speed of 210 km / h.


X5 xDrive40e can reach a speed of 120 km / h when it strolls on electrical energy and a range of up 31 before the battery discharges, as for fuel consumption it varies between 4/3 and 3/3 liters per 100

The batteries are settled on the trunk floor which offers 500-1720 liters; the batteries are rechargeable on sector but also via a complete solution BMW 360 Electric with “iWallbox” wall outlet.

Lexus LX Hybrid is coming in 2016

Reuters announced lately on based information leaked by the Japanese newspaper “Nikkei” that the Lexus will unveil Lexus LX h hybrid in 2016, and Lexus is now working in developing a hybrid system capable to push these multiple uses of the car forward. This system will reduce neither its power nor its strength in the off-roads, deserts and unpaved roads.

On the other hand, the parent company will also add this hybrid system to its Famous car “Land Cruiser». The same source claimed that Toyota will expand the scope of the SUV hybrids. So, we may see after the “Land”, “Prado” and “furchner” with hybrid engines in coming days.

In earlier news on the same topic, Lexus LX model will be launched under LX600h similar to LS600 with approximately 438 horsepower but the news are not assured yet because this power is the result of a 4.8 engine + an electric engine as in the LS600h; moreover, LX 5.7 engine originally generates 380/hp or more + electric engine with 100/hp that will be a Total of 480 hp. This is what most of the Lexus fans are waiting for.
